Most of our personal & household favorites come from Young Living since we are obsessed with the quality & get them delivered right to our doorstep every month. But I also wanted to keep a running list of many of our other favorite low-tox products too.
Personal Care tips:
In general, we personally...
...remove the toxic lubricating strip from disposable razors. I simply use a pair of tweezers to pull it out. I tried a couple low-tox metal razors, but found them to be a bit too cumbersome for legs, especially for new shavers. Removing the lubricating strip worked great.
...avoid parabens, SLS/SLES, phthlates, propolyne glycol, etc.
...avoid triclosan (check hand soaps, hand sanitizers, toothpaste)
...avoid flouride (not medical/dental advice)
...look for clean makeup. So much of the makeup in the USA is incredibly toxic, especially tween/teen makeup.
...avoid glyphosate (buy organic whenever possible)
Personal Care products we love:
Thieves Hand Sanitizer - hands down the best sanitizer we have ever used. Non-drying + clean, powerful ingredients.
Thieves Whitening Toothpaste - this is our absolute favorite toothpaste (do a quick search for hydroxyapatite). BTW...if a toothpaste has a warning on the label to call poison control if swallowed, I personally would pitch it in the trash.
